8 Things You Must Do If You Want To Stay Motivated

It is important to stay motivated at all times if you desire to achieve success and happiness. Motivation is a state of mind and you can consciously choose to be motivated. The choice you make will determine your success or failure in life. Here are the 8 things that you can do in order to stay motivated:

1. Read positive books

Everyday we need to feed our physical body with food and water. However, we neglect to feed our precious mind with “positive food”.
Reading positive books and materials on personal development and self help will feed your mind with positive thoughts. The Bible is the greatest motivational and training book of all time. Positive thoughts will lead to positive behavior and action that will lead to success. All achievers are normally good readers. Read at least 15 minutes a day and you will develop a habit for life.

2. Listen to cassette tapes

Listening to cassette tapes by motivational speakers will keep you motivated. Rather than spending idle time while driving or caught in traffic jams, why not spend the time listening to motivational tapes? Watching CDs and videos on motivation will also greatly increase your motivation level because it is audio-visual. There are many good materials in the market and it is well worth your investment.

3. Positive Environment

Environment is very contagious. It will gradually mould you unconsciously. If you are not a smoker or gambler, but spend time with peers who are smokers and gamblers, it is only a matter of time that you will acquire the bad habits. You have the choice to choose your environment. Always seek to be in the companion of those who are positive and successful and you will be motivated. Seek the counsel and advice of those who are successful and you will also be successful.

4. Role Model

To stay motivated you should select a role model to follow. Find a mentor whom you respect and copycat him. Speak to him and find out what he does to stay motivated and positive. If you do exactly what he does, you will acquire his habit and pattern of excellence. Discover how he gets motivated and stays motivated and apply it in your life and you will achieve the same result.

5. Goal Setting

Countless books had been written about goal setting and it is one of the most important ingredients for success. Setting your goal in writing will keep you motivated and remind you of your dreams and desire.
Having a worthwhile goal will keep you motivated when you meet with obstacles and challenges. The goal will fuel you towards your desire and dreams. When you get discouraged always remind yourself of your goal. Paste your goal where you will be able to see it regularly. Carry with you a “Goal Card” wherever you go in order to remind you of your goal at all times.

6. Positive Attitude

Having a positive attitude is crucial to success and will enable you to stay motivated. There are two sides to a coin. In order to be happy you will need to be proactive and look at the positive side of any situations. It is important to look at the glass of water as half full rather than half empty.
Everything in life happens for a purpose and it will always be for the good. You can choose to be happy or sad; motivated or discouraged. It is your choice and what you choose will determine your success or failure.
Change your attitude and you will change your result!

7. Movement

Movement creates emotion! You are happy because you smile. Without movement and action you will be dull and discouraged. When you start taking action you will generate a positive emotion which will lead to some sort of result. The more action you take the better will be your result and the more motivated you will become.

8. Prayer

I am not trying to be spiritual but prayer really does help to instill faith. With faith you will increase your belief and motivation level. When God is your senior partner, what can go wrong?

Success is a choice. You can choose to be motivated at all times. Just follow the simple 8 steps formula and you will be a happier and successful person. You will also be healthier and have more friends.
