I couldn’t believe what I had just heard! Hands cupped around his mouth
so his words wouldn’t travel to the ears of eavesdroppers, and flipping
his head from shoulder to shoulder to ensure no one would be privy to
his divulgence, David repeated his whispered announcement, “I have $500
saved.”

This wouldn’t be such a shock if it weren’t for the fact that David is a
mentally challenged adult. Where on earth did he get that kind of money?
He pulled me aside and answered my unspoken question, so excited that
his words tumbled pell mell of his lips, faster and faster until I could
barely keep up with his stream of consciousness. Eventually I got the
gist of his monologue.

Most people in other parts of the world wonder why things are working for the whites, especially the Americans. They are sometimes baffled why things work for the whites and they are not finding it rosy at all. Is it that God created them specially to do whatever they want to do or what?

I want to tell you if you are ever in this position, or even if you are an American and still wonders why things work for some people and nothing seems to work for you. The truth of the matter is that there is no favoritism with God. Whether you are black, white, brown or orange, we are all created equal. A white man’s brain is in no way different from a black man’s. We were all born as a child with innocence and equal opportunities.

An important principle of success in all walks of life and in all
occupations is a willingness to GO THE EXTRA MILE; which means the rendering of more and better service than that for which one is paid, and giving it in a positive mental attitude.

Search wherever you will for a single sound argument against this
principle, and you will not find it; nor will you find a single instance
of enduring success which was not attained in part by its application.

At the end of each year, it is always a norm all over the world for people to reflect on the out going year and also plan for the New Year. So many people are filled with regret when they discover that the out going year has been wasted and they couldn’t point to something tangible they have achieved in the year.

Having a successful year is as simple as ABC if only you know how to. Like everything in life, success is a series of processes turning into a system. It is this system that we all need to follow, consistently, if we are to look back at our year with so much satisfaction.

In surveys done across many job categories, including construction, service industries like hotels and restaurants, small business owners and corporate moguls, a large percentage of those surveyed said that they felt they needed to improve their time management skills so that they didn’t need to spend as much time at work.

Many wanted to reduce the time they had to spend reworking tasks they had already performed because they had done it wrong the first time.

In the first edition of Chicken Soup for the Souls, written by Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield, there was this story of a 15-year old boy that decided to set 117 goals for his life. This is incredible but true.

While going through an article directory, I saw an article written by Vic Johnson of Goals 2007.com. I was excited to read John’s article again and I decided to share the article with you. There are so many important lessons to learn in this article.
